Video blogging basics

Video blogging basics

Throughout the Internet I have seen so many people ask. How do I begin video blogging?

Today I finally decided to take some time and address this issue as well as share a couple of tips that I use when creating my videos. These tips are purely my own opinion but they work for me and they should work for you to! When starting out in the video blogging world it’s important to keep a couple of things in mind so you don’t lose focus while recording.

Recording is the easy part to video blogging, editing the video is going to be the hardest part if you don’t stay on topic and focus.

I suggest you make a bullet point list outlining the top things you want to cover in each video you create. This will allow you to quickly glance at a piece of paper and see the next topic to cover and you can keep the pace moving along. When you get to the editing stage of your video blog you will only have to edit out the parts where you paused slightly looking at the notes.

I have found this makes a major difference and saves me a lot of time, I would encourage you to do the same! Another point I would like to make baffles some people but it’s a piece of information that you should take to heart. The question relates to the lighting in videos, for some reason people just don’t seem to get it or they don’t understand that dark videos are out…

The lightning can make or break a videos success; believe it or not the lighting is not overly difficult to get right. Just use as much natural daylight when recording as possible. People will tell you that you must have high-quality video lights but this is simply not true. All you need is a good source of daylight and your set!

When it comes to the audio for your video I suggest using your video cameras audio and not getting a separate microphone to record with. I have tried both methods but using the video cameras audio abilities has always produced excellent results for me.

In addition people seem to have trouble editing their videos properly. I have seen it so many times and the video’s end up looking distorted after the final output because they don’t know which settings to use. Rather than just listing a bunch of settings you can use I would like to suggest for you to tinker with the settings until you get a small file size with decent quality. Files size is not as important as it used to be however keeping it in mind is important for slower Internet connection users. If you use services like YouTube and Revver uploading bigger videos is no problem!

Back to the editing though, I use Imovie HD to edit my videos. It has always worked really well for me but I know that some people don’t have a Macintosh and Imovie is not a choice on Windows. Therefore if you’re making online videos using the built-in Windows Movie Maker may be your only choice. Luckily for you Windows Movie Maker is a great program and works excellent for online videos. Just use the export for web option and you should be fine.

Lastly people seem to have trouble putting videos on their own websites. I’m not sure why this is such a big problem…

All you have to do is copy the embedded code that the video hosts will give you. These embed codes will work on any website, blog or forum. However if you’re having trouble getting a video to display properly on your own website feel free to e-mail me the link to the video and I will see if I can help you out.

Do You Need To Work For A Company To Be A Great SEO?

The other day I was talking to a friend and he was talking about going to work for a SEO Firm so he could add that to his resume. That then raised the question to me, do you really need to work for a firm to get jobs as a SEO?

Do You Need To Work For A Company To Be A Great SEO?

After thinking it over I have come to a decision and I stand behind the answer your about to read. Before I spill the beans and give you my answer let me explain why I believe what I believe.

I want you to think about this, lets say you’re a big company like Dell.com but lets say your just starting out with the seo to your dell product website. Your already a multi millon dollar company making a income that most only dream of, but if I emailed you saying I can do SEO for you and here is some proof of past customers success and I can do it for you to!

Do you for one second think that Dell will give you a second look? What if a company sent the same type of email to dell, would they give them a second look?

To answer the question No, dell would not give either a second look UNLESS you have something to offer Dell that no one else can. Proof of ranking success is all that you need to get a SEO job, you don’t need medals or badges from a SEO firm.

Just show the proof and if they like your results BAMB you got the job. It really is that simple! What do you think? Can you get a SEO job without working for a SEO firm? Tell us your thoughts and ideas below for all to see!

TNX.net InfectedByBugs Review

TNX.net InfectedByBugs Review

Tnx.net contacted us in regards to reviewing their new Text Link Sales system. It allows users to register their site and get paid to list text links that other users or visitors want to buy. It’s a system that allows beginners who don’t know how to sell their links themselves in an easy fashion.

Before we go any further with this review I want to go on record by stating that buying links of any kind whether through a system like TNX or buying directly from website owners is a big no no in my opinion. People continue to buy links to this day as its an easy way to cheat the system. I know it’s hard to understand why I emphasize that on my blog, but if you continue to buy links and you do get penalized you will know why I am so strict against it. That aside I am going to review TNX from a person’s view who would want to buy / sell links. I may throw my own thoughts in here and there but overall it will be about those who want to buy and sell links.

There are a couple of key points TNX wanted us to cover in the review so I will address those first!

Registration

At first I thought registration in the site was going to be time consuming and difficult as most sites ask for information that is really not needed. Much to my surprise and enjoyment registration took me maybe 30 seconds and It only had around 5 fields to fill out. The normal username, password twice, email and name were all that were required on TNX which was excellent. I assume TNX knows how annoyed some people are by longer registrations so they avoided this.

Free Tools

In addition to their Link Sales service you get free tools like the: New Free Tool to Make Paid Links Look NATURAL for Google (Link Generator)

These tools are great for everyone who wants to sell links, if you click the above link you can see a basic overview on how the tool works.

Ease Of Use

The system itself is fairly easy to use, all you have to do is start a new campaign then select which pages you want to sell text links on. Oh yeah did I mention that unlike other link broker programs TNX allows you to sell individual links on each of your pages and not just the homepage? This allows users to make more money off their sites as well as giving the advertisers the ability to buy specific page links which helps in their overall ranking authority.

In addition to the ease of use on the site features, listing the links for sale is as easy as copying and pasting some code to your page. TNX takes care of all the details to ensure the links placed on your page are relevant so your webmaster friends aren’t clicking on sites about dog biscuits and vice versa!

Overall TNX.net has done a excellent job of making everything easy to use, even for the newb site owners who are trying to make a little money off their sites and are not very tech savvy.

TNX’s Site Design

When TNX first asked for me to review them I was thinking, Oh Great, another one of those fly by link broker programs that never make it big. To my delight I found TNX to look and act very professional. They combined various shades of blue and grey making things easy on the eyes but still allowing you to see everything clearly. I would assume they spent a lot of time on the design, as soon as you enter the site it screams professionalism in every way!

I love the way they have the sidebar on the site separating each major section with great Web 2.0 icons that help you know what is what. Websites that use icons to represent a specific section / task to be completed are often easier to use then just plain CSS text links.

My only critique on the design that I hope TNX fixes soon is the fact that they link to a few DP threads at the top of their site. These look bad as it appears they were just posted in with no thought or concern put in for the users sake. If you’re going to place such links on the site at least make them fit within the content of the main user’s page!

Support

In addition to how good TNX has done all of the above their support is just as excellent! Their support is fast and friendly making TNX a joy to work with for every advertiser and link seller alike.

The traditional support methods are just not enough for TNX.net, they also offer Live Help as well as a Support Forum to get all of your questions answered in a timely manner.

User Base

One thing that TNX did not list in there original email to us was the # of link sellers / advertisers they currently have using their website. While we still don’t know this # we do know that their support forum had well over 1,000 members when we took our first look and I would assume that has only gone up since. We would assume (Since There System Is Easy To Use) that only a small % of the total user base they have actually signed up to the support forum. Therefore I believe it is safe to assume that TNX will be offering now and for a long time a great resource for link buying and selling.

Last Words

Finally TNX offers an affiliate program which could benefit all those looking to make some extra cash.

Now that you have read about TNX we hope you will check it out for yourself and comment below by sharing your thoughts and concerns with there system.

In addition TNX is offering Free Links as a special offer to you!

Check it out today and see why I believe TNX is doing things the right way for link sellers in general.
