Are Banners The Key To Making Money Online?

I had always wondered what the very best methods were to make money online. After learning and failing for years I finally took the advice of an old kungfoo master. He suggested (Japan Voice Start) You Must Ask And Then Receive (Japan Voice Stop)

OK, well it was not a Kungfoo Master, but it was sound advice that a good friend gave me back when I first started business marketing. The truth is all you really have to do is ask people to give you a second look, they will buy your ads if you ask them the right way.

Just be sure you can deliver what you tell them you will! Over promising is the worst thing you could possibly do. At the very least under promise so you can over deliver and then they will tell others about your advertising as you exceeded there expectations.

To get back on the topic of this post, are banners really the key to making money online? First I want to go on record by stating that there is no one way to skin a cat just like there is no one way to make money online. However, if your blog receives limited amounts of traffic compared to the authorities in your niche, banners could very well be the one thing that makes or breaks your blog for the long haul.

I have run multiple sites and blogs throughout my career online, some have worked, some haven’t. But all these successes and failures have taught me that giving up is not the answer. When I started this blog I told myself it needs to work, therefore figure out how to make it work!

Although a lofty goal that I could have easily failed, it actually is happening as we speak. I never expected such growth so quickly from any one website, especially a blog about making money online. The market is so full of blogs on this topic that I seriously thought I had no chance. Luckily for me, I do have something to say and people like to listen to it.

Here I go getting off topic again, to get back on topic…

In my opinion banners are the key to making money online if your website is not as big as others in your niche. Companies buy banners for the simple fact that placement of them is easy for visitors to see. Although the advertisers may never get a click, an image says a 1000 words. The same principle applies to a advertisement. If the ad image was made correctly at the start it should speak to a visitor with a lasting message, even if they don’t click the ad.

This is one thing I have tried my best to accomplish with InfectedByBugs, I always wanted people to feel comfortable with the ad placements so they make sense and not look stuck on or in your face advertising which is annoying to visitors.

3 Easy Ways To Long Tail Keyword Rankings

3 Easy Ways To Long Tail Keyword Rankings

Today we are going to look at the long tail keyword factor and 3 easy ways to achieve top rankings in them. Before we learn the techniques to top rankings for them we first need to know that long tail keywords will generate great traffic for us because they are easy to obtain and we can obtain multiple ones in a short period of time!

Social Bookmarks

Alright so the first part in this basic 3 step plan to obtain long tail keywords is social bookmarks. The reason I prefer these over generic links is because you can obtain large quantities of them in a fairly short time frame. Google will index your page within hours of submitting to the socials and you will start ranking just as quick. Depending on the long tail keyword (some are harder then others) you will see a ranking time between 24-48 hrs.

Directories

After you get a handful of social bookmarks pointing to your long tail keywords submit that page into directories as well. Directories create great authority in the engines and life without them is simply pain! Get into all the best ones you can, even spending a few bucks for bigger directories like Yahoo or Business is not a bad idea.

SEO URLS

The #1 key to obtaining long tail keywords is using seo URL. The search engines rely heavily on long tail keywords to match with long tail seo URL. This is a major reason to why blogs rank well so fast. They apply the long tail keyword method and they do it because it simply put… Works!

Using these 3 simple steps you should be able to obtain long tail keywords in no time, apply these methods and share your results with us below!

How To Know If Your Indexed?

I was scouring the net for questions I could answer in a post for today, I have been feeling sort of dry in the ideas department but have faith I will use my own techniques I explain on the blog here, here and here to get myself out of this slump.

When does one know if they are indexed in the search engines?

I looked up my “Ask Me Anything” thread on my webmaster forum at Bzimage.org, much to my surprise there was a question I skipped (sorry about that) so I thought instead of adding it to a video I would just explain it via a post instead.

The question I received was a general one, that’s probably why I skipped it in the first place. But as promised I will answer every question I possibly can. Here was the question I received in the thread…

“When does one know if he or she is indexed in the search engines?”

First off, this is kind of a two fold question even though it doesn’t seem like it. Mainly because it’s asking how to know if your indexed in the search engines but we also need to know how to get indexed to complete the question properly. Guess what guys, you don’t get indexed without wanting to, plus there is no reason to create a blog and post in it if you’re not indexing, it’s just plain silly and we all know it!

Alright to answer the original question in style, all you have to do is visit www.google.com and type your website URL into the input box and hit search. When the results are listed to you if your site is not one of the top spots on the page then you are not indexed. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean your banned from the search index, it simply means your not indexing properly yet.

See now doesn’t that questions answer leave you with the feeling of ok, so I am not banned but I am not indexed either. So how do I get indexed relatively quickly so I can start gaining ground and readership? Great question, I have covered this topic in-depth before, however for a quick fix here is the basic story to getting your site indexed fast.

All you need to do is get maybe 5-10 regular links pointing to your site, while simultaneously getting anywhere from 5-25 friends to social bookmark your site. These socials will help your site get indexed really fast while the links give the search engines a link profile to go off of at the start.

Doing one without the other is a bit silly IMO, also if you already have a blog going with links and you are indexed but you just published a great article and you want it indexed in just a few hours apply the same technique minus the extra links. If you’re already indexed it’s just slow from cache date to cache date then your link profile is already in place, you just need a power booster and that is where the socials come in handy!

That raises another question, if after you get the socials and links to your site yet you still remain not included in the indexed within 48 hrs what should one do?

Check and see the history of the domain, see when it was last registered and what the last page indexed by archive.org is. Once you know this you can start dissecting the page to see what may have caused google to ban or deindexed the site.

It’s a long a tedious process, so if it has happened to you by some small chance of fate I suggest you drop that URL and get a brand new one and start with it. Don’t buy into the lie that an aged domain is way better for a site then a new URL, which is only true if you keep the old website with it. As soon as the site is taken off you drop nearly all the authority and have to rebuild anyhow. Trust me on this one and take it to the bank, there are so many scammers on the net that will scam you into anything just for a couple of bucks!
