Backup Flash Drive?

Hello Friends,

When it comes to blogging its not very often people backup there blog posts, databases, websites etc onto a Flash Drive. But today I want to encourage you to think about perhaps doing so.

What if you go on vacation and when you get back home the 5-10 stock piled posts you had saved on your hdd are gone? What if a virus took over and destroyed everything you have worked so hard on?

All of these concerns can be removed if you get a Flash Drive and remember to backup your files on a weekly basis!

Just remember that when it comes to Flash Drives the bigger the better that way you can always keep things stored. I personally like 4gb models or bigger but you can make your own decision on that kind of stuff.

FlashDealer.com has a wide selection of colors and storage sizes that you can checkout. Granted they are not all a best buy but they do have some deals that are too good to pass up!

Check it out today and be sure to comment below and let us know what brand and storage size you chose for your new Flash Drivefrom FlashDealer.com!

Why you should check your blog everyday!

So for the last month or so I haven’t been checking my blog and making sure everything works right. I just assumed it all has because up to that point I had never had a problem…

I WAS WRONG!

That’s right, I should have been checking the blog because as it turns out my email subscription box (that gives away my free ebook) was not popping up when visitors came to my homepage. What does this mean? No subscribers for the last 30 days!

So I went ahead and saw this and fixed it yesterday, in one day I went from 888 rss subs to 896 thats alsmot ten new ones practically overnight! Who knows how many I missed because my subscribe section was not functioning properly!

I am so mad at myself for this but I understand these things happen, I encourage everyone to do minimally a weekly check to ensure everything is working, and don’t be afraid to be a good samaritan either, if you see someones blog not functioning right go ahead and email them letting them know, you may become a friend for life!

Carbonite The Backup Solution Or Historic Fail?

When it comes to keeping your files safe from virus’s, crashes and the worm there are not many choices on the net today. However a player that has a seemingly impeccable record has recently surfaced more and more. Carbonite is making great gains as a backup service provider but is it really necessary to pay them to do this for you? Granted the yearly fee is only $54.95 but its still more money going out and before I do that I want to know what you all think.

null

The decsion is really up-to you if you think its worth it but in my own opinion it can’t possibly be worth paying a backup service to do what I can do myself on an external hard drive every week…

That brings the question, what do you think? Is a online backup service worth it? Give me your thoughts and opinions and lets discover the majority vote! Once I have the majority vote I can decide better whether its worth it for me or not.

I do want to mention the fact that Carbonitehas won the Cnet Webware top 100 award for 2009. Its a great honor and I believe with a little more time Carbonitecould turn into a bigger service that more people use. I think before it can truly become big the Internet speeds globally will need to get quicker for the cheaper price. Here is a short snippet of what Cnet had to say about Carbonite!

Carbonite is an online storage provider that specializes in backup. Users install a small piece of software on their machine, which automatically syncs any new or changed files over a secured connection. In case of an emergency, you can simply use the software to get everything back, and because it’s not localized to where your machine is, you can get that backup from wherever you have a connection.

Carbonite isn’t a free service, but there’s no limit on the size of your computer’s backup, something which makes it more attractive as the speed of home Internet connections continues to rise.

I think that pretty much says all that needs to be said don’t you think?
