When article marketing there are a couple of things you should do, follow along to see what I mean

1. Its important for you to write original content to position yourself as an expert in your niche.
2. Secondly you need to understand that the original content that will do the best is the content that does not ”sell” or promote yourself. Rather articles that provide useful information for readers will do the best.
3. You also need to know where to submit your best original content, its important to frequently submit to the #1 article site which is http://EzineArticles.com/ this way you can build a steady stream of traffic to your website/blog.
You may be asking yourself: “How do I benefit from the article if I can’t make a pitch in the article?”.
The key point to understand is that articles are meant to be informative first before a sales pitch, after they read your useful help you can share your unique expertise by placing a link or two in the resource box at the bottom of the article submission page when you submit your article. Just simply provide a link back to your website and kaboosh you got traffic and links.
Learn to provide just enough information in the resource box to get the reader interested in checking out what else you offer. Give your readers an appetite for more and they will be more inclined to visit your site/blog.
Make sure the information in your article body relates to the information on your site. Once they are at your site, you have the opportunity to deliver your pitch any way you like.
Another reason not to sell yourself in the article body, is that ezine and web publishers don’t generally want to re-publish sales pitches to the masses. By keeping your promotional content within the Resource Box only, you increase your article readablity and link visibility throughout the net, your chances of being republished go way up from there.
Article marketing is about generating traffic and leading qualified prospects to your website not a quick fix.

Shannon, are you still having luck with this? I typically use iSnare and the results have gone way down…I’m wondering if a simple switch to eZineArticles would improve my results.

I know how important article marketing is, but I find it VERY hard to pound out articles quickly enough to feel that there’s a good ROI. It can take me hours to write a 500 word article, and there’s a lot of link-building that could get done in that same time.
Once a little more money is coming in, I may try outsourcing articles instead.

It’s important to know that the more articles you write, the better you’ll get at it. After a while, you’ll be able to pound out that same 500 word article in 20 minutes, which is pretty cool.
Another thing to be aware of… Article marketing is great, but make sure the landing page that you’re sending the traffic to is decent. I have an article that has gotten thousands of click-throughs, but none of them converted.

I’m all for article marketing and I certainly agree with “Repair Bad Credit” on the part where the landing page should be of value to those who come for visits or they will otherwise leave as fast as they come…

I’m not too sure if I’m right but it seems like ezine easily pass Google duplicate content filter..at least that’s what I read on other blogs. Any opinion on this?

Any type of social marketing is good. Especially if you can get featured on Digg.

@Ethan: Forget “Digg” …. everything is gamed by a certain quarter of close-knit diggers. Perhaps an article as famous as “Obama Drop from the Presidential Race” would make it to the front page. Oh I love this guy….
