Bloggers Utensils: Why Do We Forget?

Ever been doing something like watching a movie, playing video games or perhaps you were out to dinner and you thought of a awesome blogging idea only to forget it by the time you found a place to write it down? It has happened to the best of us but there are some steps we can take to avoid this as it is deadly to our blogging ideas success.

Today I am going to talk a bit about my basic blogging utensils and I hope you can pick up a few tips from what I have learned through out my years of blogging!

The tools of the trade so to speak that come to my mind are a video camera for video casts, notepad and pen for jotting down future blogging ideas and of course people. A big source of inspiration for my articles are you guys MY PEOPLE so to speak. When I see an interesting question asked or a good answer given in the comments of my posts I ask myself “How Can I Use That As A Post” then I jot down the ideas that hit me into my notepad.

However I found that when going out away from the PC taking the notepad and pen with me is difficult, so I had to get a smaller one to fit in my back pocket. I treat this notepad as a second wallet and always make sure its there. You never know when that killer idea will strike you, dont rely on your memory to get by use the notepad as a second brain.

We can only remember about 20% of what we see and 30% of what we write down. But if we keep what we wrote down in one central location we genuinely cannot forget anything!
