Sometimes I wonder if I should even have a cell-phone, the charges from Att are just ridiculous and I could easily do without a cell-phone! Sorry but I need to vent people!
My bill this month was just over $70 granted I do have an Iphone 3g and its mandatory to have the Data plan which is $30.00 /mo. I wish they had a limited data plan because I barely use the internet on it and I really got the Iphone so I could have a mp3 player, play same games, talk and txt occasionally.
With that said I feel the bill is still way to high, I barely use the phone and I only make calls to my family which are all free mobile to mobile anyhow.
What about you all? Do you think the cell-phone bills are getting out of hand? I wish it was about half the price it is and I know its possible because Skype calls are $9.95 worldwide through the pc… My plan is to stick with the cell-phone as I don’t currently have a land line and I use my cell as my normal phone (which is not much trust me).

My name is Shannon and I love to blog. I run multiple blogs and have been blogging for a few years now. You can find out more
I pay £7.50 per month for internet on a Sony Ericsson k800i. I have decided to text through websites rather than sms, as it is much cheaper.

That does seem very high, even taking into account the cost of the data plan.
My bill is about $65 a month… I’d be fine with it if that includes everything! Telstra, a major phone company here in Australia, basically tricked me into signing the contract. Damn me for not reading the pages of fine letters…
Anyway, I’m a foreigner in Australia so what I often do is text and call overseas. The $65 is a minimum amount, of which includes $320 credit… but those credit cannot be used for any overseas communication… so I always end up with a $90 bill, when I don’t even use most of those credit.
Should have stuck with vodafone.

My company pays for my phone. But then again that is probably the reason I am still on the Nextel Network and my phone is 100 years old.

WOW! That price is just ridiculous! I see why my parents won’t let me get one.
30$/month is quite high for some part of a thing you don’t need. But u are getting free mobile calls that is quite affordable.
I agree with Shane’s advice, try opting for sms sending through the internet, they’re much cheaper and some are even free. You’re phone bill is ridiculous, that 70$ monthly bill truly hurts Shannon.
I totally agree with you.The prices are far too high to afford at times.may be one can make better use of the internet to reduce his bill…
I pay $45 per month (CDN) for my cell. It comes with unlimited canadian long distance since I live away from the rest of my family. I don’t feel it’s too bad since I call long distance every day! Just looking forward to not having to have a landline on top of that too!
I think internet is a good resource to reduce your bill.
@Toronto personal injury, I am totally agree with you that internet is best way to reduce the bills. there is lot of option to make these facility on a low cost. good idea.
Yeah! it the greatest concerned now days.
Check out billshrink.com it will take your plan and compare your usage to other plans and let you know witch is best for you!
I think that is good to send sms through the internet, that option gives sometimes free or very cheaper rate. It is the one resource where you can diminish your bill.
In general, texting doesn’t use minutes. Your dad needs to call Verizon and see what the heck is going on; it sounds like someone in the household either used the internet or a LOT of minutes. Verizon’s internet charges are pretty steep, but texting doesn’t use the internet. Call their customer support (you can dial 611 from your handset) and ask to have the bill explained to you.
How to keep a tab on my cell phone bill?
I could have a mp3 player, play same games, talk and txt o ccasionally….My bill this month was just over $70 granted I do have an Iphone 3g and its mandatory.
Yes ATT overcharges! That is ridiculous and I would be spitting fire if I received bills like that! If you are not even using the internet then perhaps I would consider selling the phone and getting one that is simpler. Many phones have games and mp3 but they do not require a data plan.
Till then,

my cell phone bill is usually $85-90. today i texted my phone company to see wat my bill is so far, and its like $1,151. im thinking its from me going on the internet but iv been goin on the internet the same amount of time the past few months so thats wat makes me think that it cant be it. its definatly not me goin over my texting or minutes cuz i checked that and i still have a lot more texts and minutes left. so is it my internet or wat else could it be?
he $65 is a minimum amount, of which includes $320 credit… but those credit cannot be used for any overseas communication… so I always end up with a $90 bill, when I don’t even use most of those credit.
Iphone so I could have a mp3 player, play same games, talk and txt o ccasionally….My bill this month was just over $70 granted I do have an Iphone 3g and its mandatory to have the Data plan
it’s quite high if 30$/month.
my budget is less than that….
I am an entrepreneur. My business requires a lot of overseas trips. I cannot avoid answering calls even when I am in a foreign land. So I usually end up with hefty cell phone bills. I do not know how to keep a tab on my cell phone bill.
Sometimes paying your cell phone bill can hurt. And the worst part is, most of the time you may not even realize why it’s higher than you were originally quoted.
Yes I agree it a bit to heavy and frustrating I don’t understand why these telecommunication company has to price this high.

When people receive their monthly cell phone bill, most admit that they do not understand them and just pay the amount due, no questions asked. Understanding your cell phone bill can go a long way to saving you money and ensuring that you are not paying charges that you have not incurred.
