So today I want to talk a little bit about how cluttered my desk and twitter account has become. I think its important to note that I don’t always practice what I preach but I am getting better and following through with all the things I start.
Today I was looking at my new twitter account and I realized I had 27 DM’s sitting there in my account, only two of them were real messages from actual twitterers, the rest were all auto DM’s I get from the people I have started following.
That brings me to my point for this post, de-cluttering your life and DM’s is a good thing, there is nothing worse then a messy twitter account or garage that needs organizing!
Note: I know this was a rather short post but that doesn’t make it not very important! Take time out today to complete one of the clutter tasks on your to-do list, whether that’s around the house or on your twitter account!

As far as de-cluttering goes it seems to be never ending, i clear my garage one year and then a few months later it’s full of “junk” again.
Organizing your online business can be a bit like that and i find that it pays to de-clutter at least a couple of times a year.

For services where you can have tens of thousands of followers/subscribers etc even if you let them DM anyone things can be really painful.
Ability for any user to message any other user will lead to spam riots.
That makes me think that I don’t mind giving an option to kwippy users to choose if they want to get Direct/Private messages from any user

I recommend treading lightly at first and watching @@Indian News:what others are doing. Follow people who are obviously in business and see what they promote and how often they do it. Keep track of the number of followers they have over a seven day period. If you do this with at least 10 people on Twitter, you will have a more realistic view of what you can and cannot do.

This is really were your personality shines and it’s all about how you come across to your followers. Take the time to think about what you say and how you say it. You want to strike the right chord and get a response that leads them back to your site. Don’t just throw anything up there; write something unique, compelling, funny or crazy enough to get anyone that sees it to click on the link to your website. It’s much better to be looked over than overlooked! But don’t forget, keep it relevant! Twitter is just another social site like Facebook. While Twitter is kind of like a status updater, it can be used for MANY other things. You can have conversations with people (Like an IM).
