Hey guys, I received a cool question from DonkeyBlogger and wanted to share the question publicly and answer it publicly since it will let you all get to know me more as a person, blogger and a friend!

Hi there,
My question is: how do you manage a full-time offline job (or studies) with trying to make money online? Or is making money online your full time job? If so, how did you make the transition?
Could you also share one of the first methods you used to make money online and what currently earns you the most (residual) income?

Right now I am full-time online while I do some off-line work for my dad 90 to 95% of my day is online starring at this 17 inch gateway display of mine! I made the transition after I knew I could make money online full-time, I’m averaging about $500-600 per week right now with all that I do.
Its not a ton but its what I love and I would rather do what I love then what I don’t and make more money, maybe that is wrong but its how I feel.
Well if you subscribe to my rss feed I share tips all the time on how to make money online. As my my main source of income that would be my web design business. I make 80% of my income from doing website design for other people, companies etc…
The rest is made from blogs, sites and other methods of online money making via affiliates and such.

Web design is a huge industry that you can make a lot of money in, but you don’t have to be a web designer to make money online. Most of the big time bloggers don’t do any designing themselves. For example John Chow is not a web designer. I believe he started out with a site call the tech zone that featured new tech products and then he started to make money with his blog as well and then he started ttz media. There are thousands of way to make money online being a designer is only one of them.

Anyone can make money online, even non-designers. You just have to be patient and work very hard at it.

Website design & programming is definitely good money spinners online.
I have hardly seen people who makes considerable amount of money from affiliate programs.

m a computer engineer & just finished my degree. going to do a job.
but blogging has made me so addicted that i wonder after learning about the industry & more about a few subjects i would come back fully online to earn money.

I wonder if you could partner with someone who has lots of internet marketing experience but no design skills and go into business as a partnership? You’d each be leveraging the other guy’s skills.

I’m now working full time on my Internet business. I actually have two seperate niches. The one I’ve been operating in five or 10 years is self-help and the other is Internet Marketing. I make inquiries and amount now and my new is purchase revolve around a new website where I had tried to explain to people who haven’t got much idea how they can earn money from a website online.

It is good to have a few different skills before you jump to the work at home all the boat. It sounds as if he already had a marketable skill that could sustain him while he ventured into other areas. Great blog and keep it up, you got a good head on your shoulders.

online is part-time for me (perhaps 10 hours per week). it’s been fun, great learning, and i’m earning about 1,000 per month. not huge money, but i’m just starting out and doing it only part time.
