 Getting More RSS Readers

There are several techniques to get more rss readers, basically it boils down to two main platforms of promotion. RSS readers and email subscriptions, the feedburner’s feed count is how many times the feed is pinged by rss readers.

RSS readers have to be checked atleast once a day in order for them to be counted as a reader whereas email subscriptions are counted as readers from the moment they subscribe to your blog! If you want a pretty feedcount just go with email subscriptions but if its insane traffic that you want then go with the RSS readers, rss readers do more then email subscribers do, they still click it but the click amount is so small and insignificant to be called a good CTR or non existent.

One of the most common ways to promote your rss is the in-post promotion, giving the effect of a sequel with even better information like:

“…And subscribe to my blog to get the most of my ‘money makers extreme’ posts”

The sheer curiousity of the user will get you more readers, mostly from first time site visitors as they want to know more plus it gives you more internal link love to link to the subscribe page through posts..

You can also ask people to use the feed widget to add your feed to their blogs sitewide that also counts as 1 whole reader and it updates automatically. This is really good if you have one or more blogs, you can just add the feed widget to the sidebar to all your blogs and interlink them!

Email subscribtion has to be done on incentives, readers are really picky about what they subscribe to via email, if you offer something in return only then can you get people to subscribe to you via email, the best way to do this is make a quality ebook or buy some for full rights then give them away for free only if they subscribe to you via email.
