I recently installed the new beta 5 google toolbar, after using it for about 30 minutes I re-installed version 4.0! Why? A few reasons, firstly the internet seems to load slower with it which tells me google is trying to track everything I do and it sends the reports to them. While I don’t care if google knows what I do I just don’t like slow internet.
Additionally the page rank display was cut to about half the normal size. Although page rank is not a good factor to go by advertisers do still take it into account so I like to see it and I don’t appreciate google making it a tiny little bar that’s for sure!
Lastly they have made things to complicated by offering the user tons of options. Why not just have the most basic features like 4.0 toolbar had?
So yeah I do not suggest you get the new toolbar!
PS: If you did already install the Beta 5 Bar and want to go back to version 4 you can get it off www.oldapps.com because google does not offer a place to download it that I know of.
So what do you think? How do you feel about the new google toolbar?

I’ve heard similar reports from other people. I’d rather take an older one then slow internet.
Never in my life have I used Google Toolbar. I have an extension for pagerank in Flock (like Firefox) and use Scour as my main search engine.
Thank you, Shannon Lilly for making me aware. I have installed google toolbar 4.0 & its working fine for me. Google toolbar 5.0 slows internet rather than this there is no problem in this software?
If not then I would like to try once because I have high speed internet connection..
I had a plan to install the new Google toolbar. But now I think it is better to continue with the old one itself.
i m happy with the old
i dont understand why they upgrade with no substantial issue! lot of options that normally u wouldnt use just make things creepy.
i didn’t notice much of a difference with the new beta. i need to mess with the features more. thanks for the heads up.
