Usually when I am asked to review something its either related to design, content or something of that nature. However this time around we are going to take a look at the new HESK Support Script that is availible for free on Hesk.com. Just click the Download link on that page and you will begin downloading the script. Its fairly easy to install if you read the included instructions but if you have any questions just hit me with a comment or email and I can help you get it working.
This help desk software script has a lot of great features for a free script and today we are going to look at a few of them, however we are mainly going to focus on how it can help your blogging since this is after all what we all love to talk about am I right?
Design & Functionality
As I said before this script offers a lot of features for a free script, the first thing I want to point out however is how great this script looks out of the box, here are some demo screenshots to highlight what I am talking about.
As you can see its very clean and easy to see from the user side, usually these are very complicated looking and newb internet users wouldn’t know what to click on. This script makes it way easier by just having two nice sized buttons for Submitting a ticket and viewing an existing ticket they already opened A+ on that one!
Its not a very complicated help desk software design but simplicity is bliss!
Now on the other hand what about the admin side of thing, does it compare to other scripts and what about the actual admin panel, is it easy to navigate to and answer the support tickets as they come in?

I don’t know about you but from first glance of this admin panel it looks very simple to use don’t you think? This is another plus, see so many people start to use scripts but they really cant understand what they are doing so they end up making tons of mistakes and of course costing yourself and customers valuable time.
This scripts admin panel is so simple and easy to use I almost wish I could invent something like it for wordpress and vbulletin so newb users could get their sites going quicker!
How Can We Use This For Blogging?
All of this is great but it raises the question “how can we use this script in our blogging?”.
To be honest I don’t know if anyone has ever covered this before but here is my thoughts on it. When blogging you will most likely at some point and time sell a product, offer a service or if you just want to answer general questions from your readers. This is when a help desk software will come in hany because scripts like this can be used to tie the not and keep you organized. If you want you can even set this script up with ease for dept like products, advertisements, general inquiries and so on. This script has the potential to replace an email client or program on your computer that way you can access all customer and user concerns on the fly from any cell-phone or laptop with internet connection.
Don’t you just love the web 2.0 way guys?

Yes, like you said, “Simplicity is bliss!” This Help Desk software is outstanding because of its clean, simple and easy-to-use graphical interface. Plus, the script has very little overhead and consumes few system resources, unlike other more expensive commercial software packages (and we know what those are). I originally installed Bugzilla, which was a somewhat problematic installation. While Bugzilla is very powerful, the interface is no where near the perfection of Hesk in terms of user-friendliness. That is what matters most to my end-users–ease of use. They do not want more complications when they are already having trouble with something broken on their computer. I highly recommend this script!
You’re right. It is very clean and easy to look at. Much different than competing products I have seen in the past.
this script looks pretty good. I’m using Osticket for my computer repair business right now, but going through the demo on this script it looks that it has more functionalities than OStiket. I will download it and play with it, and see how it goes.

Big thanks for the great post. I was searching some script like this for a long time. I have tried a bunch of similar scripts but this is definitely the best. Why? Of course because of it’s simple client and admin panels. That’s what we need in our business. Btw I fully agree with the author of this post that inventing something like this on wordpress would be perfect.

I am trying to install Hesk21 the newest version but for some reason when I try launching the install php script from browser all that shows up is a blank page in my firefox. I tryed copying and pasting into a new php file but with same result and i changed the permissions to 777 to see if the permissions were the issue but still no success, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance and have a great time for the holidays
