Alright in the last couple of weeks especially days since starting the Top Commenter’s contest of which is going really well BTW. I have been receiving lots of questions and I want that to continue, you can contact me and send any mmo, blogging or seo question to me and I will try my very best to answer every single one!
I got the question…
“How did you reach 500 rss readers so fast, your blog has only been up for 6 months or so and yet your subscriber count is over 500 daily readers. How did you do it?”
Now this is not the first time I have recieved this question, infact I have been told by fellow bloggers that they think Ive cheated the system and all my subscribers would eventually disappear proving that I was cheating people.
In response I kindly explained that I have not cheated nor will I ever cheat because I simply “Don’t Need To”. That’s right, I don’t need to cheat to gain rss subs, people join because I offer things they want.
Anyways….
Answering the question is sort of difficult since there is no one thing that gets my subscribers, its really a combination of a few things. Here they are in the order they pop into my brain 
RSS Icon- One of the first things I did when I started this blog was place the RSS icon somewhere on my blog, it has moved several times but if you look closely its still around! People click this link and those who use FireFox tend to always subscribe because FF makes it easy to do so.
Email Subscription Box – On my designs I have always tried to include some way for people to subscribe via email, that still remains but in the next version of IBB I will be taking that to a whole new level with new offerings!
Great Design- Believe it or not I get lots of compliments on my site, people say wow it looks great or man it stinks and I make corrections when I can. Since I have an open mind people seem to be ok with it and they subscribe because they like that I am honest. It really bugs me when someone tells me I am not honest as well because I try to be at all costs even if it hurts me because I truly have nothing to hide inside!
That’s it, if you do those 3 things you can have the same success I have. It really is that simple!

Well I don’t think your a cheat. I’m just launching my blog and have been considering some linkbait ideas. As long as your offering decent regular content and providing a chance to win something then subscribers will boom.

That’s fantastic growth … you’re proof that if you provide good content and post regularly people will respond.
Email subscription IMO is the most effective method of gaining more subscribers, at least to those who knows nothing about RSS.

Those tips are almost too basic. I have been inconsistently blogging for some time now which is what I attribute to my lack of subscribers. But I have set a posting schedule and am starting fresh, I will employ your techniques to see how many subscribers I can gain. Thanks for the advice.
