Nowadays everyone has some type of profile on a social networking site, whether it be Myspace, Facebook, or some other site. Users range from major corporations to neighborhood convenience stores but none of them use the sites for what it worth. Some big companies or even independent users might use social sites to draw traffic to their own sites then make a profit from different types of pay-per-click programs or direct sales their is a better way to make direct cash from these social sites.
Myspace is like your site away from your site, as a matter of fact, any social site that you use is like your site away from you site, so why not treat it like one and charge advertisers to advertise on your profile page not using Myspace ads or any other ad that the site benefits from but by incorporating it into your design i.e. your banner or footer.
Seeing that Myspace offers the ability to customize you page look and feel, why not use it to your advantage to make some extra revenue? I don’t know any one who doesn’t have a Myspace profile or one on any other social site so this article will be useful if you seek to make a little cash on the side. But for those who don’t use Myspace or have profiles on other sites that don’t offer the type of customization that Myspace does you can always charge advertisers for text based links on your page. What I mean my text based links is charge advertisers to display a all text link on your page.
Tips to Help you Catch Attention of Advertisers
Add as many friends possible, even ones that you don’t know.(a Myspace friend adder might help).
Create as many profiles that you can manage using your identity(do not use anyone’s else’s identity unless you have permission).
Make sure you read the terms of service before creating multiple profiles.
Inform potential advertisers about your service by posting on sites, blogs, forums and even sending them an email about how advertising on your profile will benefit their business.
The more sites you post on the more likely you find potential advertisers.
Warnings!
Do not flood a potential advertiser, forum, site or blog with posts about advertising on your page
they will see you as spammer and not respond.

It is really hard to make money from social networking site because the traffic is not that targeted and people aren’t really looking to purchase anything from that site.
It’s possible to make money this way and my blog is all about presenting every possible way guys.

This is a great way to get banned from any social networking website. Ive had like 3 SU accounts. Ive never done this over Facebook because I actually care about my friends on there, and I dont have a Myspace account.

Well thats a nice one but actually this idea was already present on the internet. And also myspace is becoming less effective for getting good traffic these days because more people are trying this idea. Anyway thanks again for letting us remember this again.

I have been using myspace and facebook as well as others as an overall strategy to get traffic and make money. It is very possible though there are obviously pitfalls. There is a lot to be learnt here, so don’t condemn any marketing efforts which have failed before, maybe you just didnt do it right?

The one problem I see with myspace is that the pages get to be so friggin long with gobloads of nothingness. I wonder how much attention an advertisement would get if it all mucky mucked up. Im always looking for simple and clean ways to raise awareness for my email marketing page.

Yeah that is true there are many social bookmarkig sites today which can give benefit such as twitter, facebook etc. but it seems little hard.

My uncle has to get a new job, and it was recommended that he join some social networking sites such as LinkedIn to gain connections and speak to others in his profession. I was asked to gather a list of these sites for him, but the only thing I can think of is LinkedIn. I know there are ones like Facebook and MySpace, but I mean more professional-geared sites.

Personally, I never had any real success from social networking sites like Facebook. While they do bring traffic, it seems to be so untargeted and vague that it never converts. Now in all fairness, I may not be doing that well, but I think focusing on SEO is a far better use of my time.
