Increase RSS Subscribers
In the next couple of days we are going to talk about some ways we as bloggers can go about getting more people to subscribe to our blog. If you apply some of these basics to your own blog I am sure you will increase steadily, if your content is good…
I will be making several posts relating to this topic, I will try to cover at least 1 method per post and try my best to reveal in detail what you should do and why. So buckle your rss seatbelts because you’re in for a wild ride!
GET READY – SET – GO!!!
Today we are going to discuss what we need to do on our sites to get our readers to subscribe. There are a few things we can do and they can yield excellent results if done the right way!
The first question should be (why do we want to increase our subscriber count?) The reason we want to increase our count is so we know how many people in general I am reaching with my postings. I don’t want to just post for the sake of posting, I am all about making money online and having a good subscriber count is a good way to do that.
The first thing I want to suggest for every blog owner is a subscribe by email box either in the header or sidebar of your blog. Here is a picture of the one we have here on InfectedByBugs.
For your readers this simple tip puts them on the spot and most will signup if they really do believe you have something to offer them at a later point. Make it easy for them to find the subscribe box, don’t hide it away in fear that people will find your blog intrusive, people are well past that on blogs.
Intriguing Content Makes Them Come Back For More!
That brings me to quick tip 2, when it comes to your blog you need to create intriguing content that makes them want to come back for more. Having posts that are split into several days can get them to signup and wanting to come back to read what else you have to say on a specific subject. I accomplish this by posting a series of posts relating to one topic and telling them at the end of the postings that tomorrow I will be discussing (blah, blah, blah) and to my surprise more people do sign up for that sort of thing.
When you create content that people want and that they have to come back for, they do signup to your email updates. But this is why it’s important to make sure every one of your postings is of high quality! Don’t ever post something unless you know that you know it’s read worthy!
Don’t Worry, You Will Know If Its Not.
Well there you have it, two excellent ways to start increasing your RSS readership!

Having a CTA at the bottom of each post, asking for signups, is a smart move also.
Usually if a reader is going to subscribe then just reminding them that is there is all that is needed. Otherwise if they will not subscribe then there is little to do to make them.
