Hey Everyone,
Today is a little strange for me, I am actually encouraging you NOT to work! That’s right, today is your day to sit back, relax and drink lemonade (unless your on a diet like me so its water with lemons for me).
OK so we all work A TON in our lives, lets just look at my past 30 days, I have worked 4/10 hr days for the last month, that’s 160 hours of work! That’s so much work that life can become stressful and we all need to learn to aleve stress.
I recently came across Volleyball, although its a sport and actually tires me out to play, its so fun that I don’t even mind. I think if we all found more hobbies we would enjoy life better, granted I understand when you have a family to feed taking time for yourself seems impossible but I hope you at least try to squeeze 30 minutes a day for yourself to do whatever you want to do!
Maybe thats painting, designing or playing a sport, whatever it is I encourage you to give it a go for atleast 30 minutes a day. I think after awhile you will become more productive because you will get your mind off things and in turn think of ideas you would have never had before.
Here is a video of me and my gang playing volleyball last night! Can you spot where I am at on the court?

Taking a break form work always rejuvenate you and gives you fresh ideas about how to improve the work,or may be a new idea to explore. And playing a game like volleyball keeps you fit, there is an old saying All work and no play make jack a Dull boy. Physical activity always revitalises your mind as the circulation of blood increases because your heart pump out more blood fastly and hence more supply of blood and oxygen refreshes mind.
I took a 2 week vacation from work and it was great. Greg Ellison
I agree.. Very important relaxing as much as possible, that way we have better focus next time we work..
Relaxation is important, for your family as well as for yourself. However, when you are surrounded by your work at all times, it is easy to remain in the work frame of mind. It can be difficult to switch gears.

Shannon, I know sometimes we should really relax instead of working non-stop without resting. Between, I can’t spot which one is you in the video. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time during summer!

lol you must be in California because in the NorthEast was hot, muggy, and wet. There’s nothing more that I’d like to do than to get out but in this economy…
I do agree that it’s healthy to have the occasional break and “recharge” the creative batteries.
Its really strange shanon that you are encouraging not to work but so far its a good idea for sometime you should relax and the best season is summer for relaxing. But I haven’t rested or relaxed during summer since 2008 so still work goes on.
I find myself getting busy with other things and working less over summer. It’s too nice out to sit inside all summer!
Also, trying getting a massage every summer. Amazing stress relief.
I am from michigan where the summer don’t last long, so I take advantage!
@Architectural Renderings ..you are right NorthEast was hot, muggy, and wet.

I make money online in my spare time using a site called Cash Crate. It is a GPT (Get Paid To) site where you get paid to fill out surveys and complete free offers. You don’t need a credit card and will never have to spend a dime.
great i am relaxed hope all of us are enjoying the summer with full cold juice in swimming pool!
Seems that you enjoyed your summer huh Shannon? I’m getting tired these days due to my busy work load, offline and online. I may want to take some times to rest as well.

My husband and I are celebrating our three year anniversary late this summer… just after Labor Day. We don’t want to go to Door County, or the Dells, because we’ve done those before. We’ve also done the camping thing before. Basically, we’re looking for somewhere where we can relax, enjoy the sites, and not have to travel too far (we’re in Chicago land area… and prefer to get AWAY from the city). We’d love to have a pool/water park at the hotel, a hot tub in the room, and even a little kitchenette in the room would be nice too. Just some ideas. Please help us.
Thanks!thanks.
Taking a break at least once a week can help you refresh your mind from everything you have done in the previous week. Just sit back, relax and Watch Desperate Housewives
I had an awful summer. I just finished my exams and after that i got a job (8 hours/day). I didn’t had time for a real holliday because i worked every day from moday to friday. Anyway i just want to know what should i do to get relaxed for a while because now i have other 2 exams coming (not very very important.. but still ) and the summer is almost over. I’m afraid to get a leave from the job because i’m just a beginner there even if i can do that. I don’t even have a girlfriend yet.. So.. please tell me what should I do because everything’s getting so frustrating..
sounds like cosmetic surgery needs some cosmetic surgery to cheer up.

I wanna to finished my pending works during this time. I know that like previous year this time i don’t have time for enjoyment.
Working at home does not remove the best out of you.If you want to give your best then you need to away from your family.
I’ve been meditating for years and have found that it helps me not only relax on my downtime, but keeps me calmer, more focused, and generally less easily antagonized in other areas of my life. Just 10 minutes a day can make a serious impact on your well-being and it takes no real skill to start.
