Banners For Success!

Banners have long been used as a successful way for marketers to advertise on any given website. Today we’re going to discuss why banners are your success to online marketing and making a recurring income!

In the past I wrote articles on advertising programs like Adsense, Kontera, PPC and CPC programs and more. However I have failed to deliver a truly great article on why I believe Banner Ads are your monetization key to a profitable blog!

Why do I think they are the most profitable form of advertising on your website? Why do I believe you will have a faster turn around time of making money with your blog by using banners over any other advertising program? How do I know you can make more money then you could even if you used one of those programs in conjunction with Banners on your site?

Well today I am going to answer all of these questions and more. This article has taken me several days to write as I want it to really benefit you, all my articles are great but the ones I put extra time into get the most praise by even the big dawg bloggers out there.

Here we goooooo…

Why do I think Banners are the most profitable form of advertising for your blog?

This one is a simple one to answer; I believe this because I have seen it work on my own blogs, sites and forums. When I dropped those other programs which were making a couple bucks a day and simply sold Banners to the people that were paying adsense and PPC / CPC programs I made more with my sites the first day then I had for months with adsense!

For this article I am using my Webmaster Forum as an example. I was running adsense CPC on the forum for around 30 days and in that month I had around 30,000 visitors and several hundred thousand page views. With stats like these you would think I would have made a fortune off adsense on the forum. Well there are a couple of problems with that philosophy that I experienced first hand!

1. Adsense is hard to monetize on a forum because there is no real GOOD placement for the ads, so they stand out and im sorry but adsense is just not that pretty looking. Because they stood out the visitors that did come including members complained on the forums and through email that I was blasting them with ads. Not only that but adsense also brings up some pretty unrelated ads to your pages as adsense puts up whatever the highest paying CPC words on that page may be.

That way Google makes the most money they can.

2. All those advertisers that were paying CPC through adsense although getting clicked through my site, I was only getting the trail end of the $dough because adsense takes such a big % right off the top that I was barley making anything from each click.

With that said, adsense is not all bad but before you go jump for joy you might want to read my Run Away From Adsense article as I state some interesting adsense facts on there that are just plain wrong!

Why do I believe you will have a faster turn around time to actually making money with your blog by using banners over any other advertising program?

Not only do I believe it I know you will make more money faster then adsense can deliver. How do I know this? Easy!

You’re going to make money now because adsense doesn’t pay except for every 30 days! You could make instant money off banners as they pay directly to your paypal or credit card account if you’re using a service like 2CheckOut.

A little later in this article I am going to explain the basic process on how to get people to buy the banners. It’s actually easier then you would think and this method elude’s so many people including me until a few months ago.

How do I know you can make more money then you could even if you used one of those programs in conjunction with Banners on your site?

Great question, the way I know this is again very simple. Because adsense has such a low payout % you can replace the spots where you do have adsense with banners or even No Follow text links that you sell for traffic purposes.

Remember google is not against people buying and selling links for the sake of traffic and gaining new customers / visitors to a site. They are only against buying for page rank in hopes to alter the serps in an unprofessional / unrelated way to each niche.

So as long as your sold text links have No Follow on them Google could care less.

Those spots you have filled up with adsense are practically useless and you could instead have paid adverts per month and make a great amount over the course of 1 year in comparison over adsense.

Again, if you read my Adsense Runaway article you will see how I list the only time adsense is good for your site or blog.

Getting People To Buy The Banners?

So every-one’s next question is how do I get people to buy banners on my blog or site? I have the spots listed and I even have a advertise page up but nobody is buying!

It’s not because your site is not getting enough traffic although you will need to have some in order so sell banners successfully. The main problem with trying to sell banners through your site is that the big companies you want advertising on your blog or site don’t visit. Think about it, the only people the visit your site or blog are people looking to get something for themselves!

So how do you get the big companies to advertise with you?

Another easy question, this is getting repetitive isn’t it?

All you need to do to sell these banners to bigger companies is quite simply ASK! Now before you start loling like crazy, hear me out…

The biggest mistake new website owners and bloggers alike make is that they don’t want to ask for anything because they already believe they know it all. But it really is that simple, you only need to send out a basic letter to related companies of your niche and ask them to advertise with you as you believe that advertisement spot will deliver lots of great new clients / visitors to their website.

So this raises another really great question! What should the email I send advertisers contain? Luckily for you I have that covered here in another article which I like to call the Advertising Letter Secret Sauce this article shows what should be listed in the email to your potential advertisers. You could also use those tips for your own advertisement page!

After you read that article and you have your email ready its time to find the advertisers that your going to send it to. Finding the advertisers is actually the easiest part. I have a few suggestions / ways to go about this but any of them will work splendidly at any time. However for your own records you may want to test and only do 1 a week to see which works best!

1. Go to related sites in your niche / blogs and see what sort of adverts they are listing. Even if they are using adsense contact the people paying for the adsense ads, these are all valuable contacts that you can send your email letter to.

2. Next I would suggest going to a forum for your niche and contacting prominent members and offer them a special deal if they advertise with you. A larger % of the people you contact will have a related site to you as they are hanging out on a related forum to what you’re after.

If you use both these methods you can’t help be succeed!

I hope this info has proved useful to you; I would love to hear your comments below and also hear about your success and failures with any advertising campaigns you may have run!
