The 5 T’s of blogging!

By Shannon Lilly

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

When it comes to blogging I find its best to have a base of sorts to go from so you can stay focused and get the most done you possibly can in your day. So today I am breaking down the 5 T’s you need to blog right!

Read On If Your Ready To Dominate You Niche!

Think - Think about what your blog is for, do you provide info or just talk about your personal life? What do you want people to read your blog for, once you know you can market for that to come to pass.

Try - Don’t be afraid to try different things on your blog, perhaps different ad sizes, placements or even new topics / categories. Believe it or not people have more then one interest in life and I am sure most would love one place to read about them all!

Toss - Forget being the same as another blog, toss it out the door and become original! Lets look at my blog for instance, have you ever seen a blog like mine that provides the kind of funny yet informative posts on a daily basis like I do? I doubt it, most are one time per week posters but that’s not the IBB way!

Take - Its time to take advantage of your readers, I know it sounds bad but seriously. If you have even 100 rss readers why are you not regularly asking them to tell others about your blog or even better installing a plugin like Opt-in comments so as soon as someone makes a comment they are subscriber to your blog? Its time to take your visitors for a ride they will enjoy!

Tweak - The last T we are going to sizzle for you is the fact that tweaking is natural when running a blog. If your not tweaking your blog, writing, posts and making things better or at least trying to then don’t call yourself a blogger because that’s how we roll!

Enjoy guys and don’t forget to subscribe so I can beat Tom in our RSS challenge! :)

Good advice Shannon. “Try” is one of the most important in my opinion. People are so afraid to try something they usually miss out on a good learning experience or a good wad of cash.

  2. Shannon Lilly Says:

Exactly, however sooner or later you have to stop “Trying” so many things and instead “Take Action” on one thing and stick with it till it works.

BTW where is your new video?

  3. Mario Says:

Actually we have to try every day if we want to achive our goal one day.

  4. Shane Says:

I agree that Try is the more important word.

    Great post Shannon.

My favorite “T” is Try. I totally agree with you that being unique is an important part of this business. There are thousands of blogs out there, and if you want other people to read yours, you’ll need to stick out. It’s one of my best tips for bloggers that always ask me the question of “how to be a successful blogger”.

You’ve been blogging away lately with some great content. I absolutely agree with your tips, including the one I saw in the comments to “Take Action!” It’s good to see the motivational posts and advice, keep it up!

being original’s pretty important because of the sheer number of blogs out there, trying to write about the same thing.

I can’t pick a favorite T because I’m new to this all. I will however say I really like this site and the way you present information. I look forward to more from you in daily updates. I am a single mom who works full time outside the home, however I have dabbled a bit as a freelance writer and hope to make the transition to working from home. Thank you for info that might help me on my quest to make extra money online .

I like the way that that was described. It lets the reader know that they should be tweaking their site on a regular basis if they want to be part of the continually changing environment.
