Today I want to talk about a new marketing idea I have tried and had some success with in the past. I also want to know all your opinions on the technique and if you have had any success or failures with it! This way we can grow as marketers together and learn from each other!
Today we are going to talk about YouTube the best video site on the net! Some of you may have heard about YouTube being sued for 1 billion dollars but I mean cmon does anyone really think they will beat google in this? Google is the best at everything on the net because they have the engine that makes the internet go round right now!
Anyways back on topic, today I am going to share a technique with you where you can use YouTube to gain a high position in the search engines. I like to call it “Using Google Against Themselves” technique!
You may be wondering what that means but in a few moments after you read the how to below you will fully understand. Lets get started and learn how to YouTube like nobody else!
Sorry for such a large screenshot but as you can see in the midst of rankings for the term Dodge Restoration there is a YouTube video in the mix and has a rather high ranking! While this term is not the most complicated to get into it does help to know that this technique works on any mid sized terms!
The formula to do this is actually quite simple, here is a basic breakdown for you!
- Upload Your Video To YouTube.
- Put A Good Catchy Title (Containing Your Keywords).
- Put 5 Or More Tags Relating To Your Keywords.
- Use The Video Description To Pump The Search Engines With Info About Your Keywords.
After you have all that done and your video is uploaded go to the video URL, grab it then social it on all the major sites like Digg and SlashDot. Then Sit back and watch the rankings of your video rise! Try it out if you don’t believe me, it works every time!

This is a good strategy, though bear in mind that it’s not hard to rank in a search engine when you’re using a domain like http://www.youtube.com.
It’s a very good video, and certainly the quality of the content has helped it grow on YouTube, and thus improve in the search engine rankings. So let’s not discount the importance of good content — which many SEOs believe is the key to good search rankings.
Also, re: “Use The Video Description To Pump The Search Engines With Info About Your Keywords” — search engines are pretty smart, and the engineers that design them are even smarter… if you go too far, you get slammed. It’s best to be very careful with this technique. In the short run it may work, but long term it may put you on thin ice.
A very good way of getting good you tube results is to put the video in an invisible iframe of every page of your website. If you have good traffic then it bumps your rank up and gets even more traffic so its a loop! I may post about this on Cow Blogger later.

Great advice. YouTube is becomming such a huge phenomenon that even Google is recognizing it for many search queries nowadays. It is a unique and innovative way to get your keywords and your site ranked to the top pages. Also promoting it on social networking sites is the best way to go as Google checks these sites more often than any to see where people are going to on the internet.
