Have you taken your blog as far as you feel you can? Maybe you’re just plain tired of working on it and are out of ideas for which way to take it next. It could be that you are at the peak of your success and just want to cash in to reap the rewards of your hard work. Whatever the reason you’re trying to sell your blog, you’re probably looking for the best site on which to do so.

Once you’ve gotten all your ducks in a row and figured out how much your blog is worth and what you want to sell it for, you might want to consider the follow sites for listing your site.

WebsiteBroker: At Website Broker, you can buy or sell a website as well as utilize helpful resources in making decisions regarding the acquisition or sale of your business. On the resources page you can utilize the “Website Evaluation and Valuation Guide”, make use of the “Website Valuation Calculator”, review “Legal Forms and Business Documents”, and read their “Tips and Suggestions”.

BizBuySell: Self-proclaimed as “The Internet’s Largest Business for Sale Marketplace”, BizBuySell.com focuses on a variety of businesses and services to buy or sell, including internet businesses. Claiming to have “connected over 30,000 sellers with the company or person who ultimately purchased their business”, BizBuySell could be a site to consider for selling your blog. You can also use their “Value a Biz” tool to help you determine what your blog might be worth.

DealaSite: With a bid-type structure, DealaSite.com offers the ability to put your blog on the auction block so-to-speak. According to the site, when your bid session expires, you can “choose the best offer or none at all.” You may also converse with potential buyers through a public comment system.

BuySellWebsite: Among some of the touted features of selling your site on BuySellWebsite.com are “High Visibility”, “Worldwide Reach”, “Top Search Engine Rankings”, and even a “Sell Guarantee” where if your site doesn’t sell in your purchased two-month listing, “you’ll receive a one month extension free!” You can also pay (the fee is based upon the monthly income of your site) to have an appraisal done on your site.

eBay: Yes, of course eBay has to make the list. Would it be an article regarding ‘selling something’ without mentioning eBay? This sale option could leave a lot of the smaller details and legalities of selling a business up to you though.

Flippa: Flippa.com advertises “100,000 Unique Visitors per Month” and “30 Million in Websites and Domains Traded and Growing”. If you’re wondering about pricing, they currently quote a $19 listing fee, a 5% success fee if your site sells, capped at $498, and a minimum success fee of $5.

BuyBusiness: Choose from “Standard”, “Featured” or “Spotlight” ads to help sell your site. The level of ad package you choose will determine your cost as well as the features you receive and how your business is showcased.

InternetCompanyForSale: Searching for a site to sell your blog with no commissions? Then you might want to swing by InternetCompanyForSale.com. They tout their commission-free pricing and offer several listing categories that may fit your needs.

WebmastersMarketplace: With reasonably low listing fees, you might want to take a look at Webmasters Marketplace as a site for selling your blog. According to their fees page, listings are 0 credits and you can purchase upgrades with credits (i.e. Featured Listing on Homepage = 10 credits, Highlighted Listing = 5 credits, etc.). To clarify, 1 credit = $1 USD.

List on Your Own Site: Maybe you don’t want your site being sold to any random bidder though. Maybe it means too much to you and has a sentimental value that you just can’t put a price on. This may be a good time to consider advertising on your own blog site in hopes that a loyal follower might pick up the torch and carry on your ideals and values. As a consideration though, this option will indicate to your followers that you are selling the site, which could have an adverse impact upon your blog. This may also mean that much of the negotiating and legalities could largely be left up to you to handle.

This is a guest post by Darren Singleton, he is a Webmaster, Blogger and Internet Entrepreneur who loves to teach others!

Looking around the blogosphere, contests can be seen being held everywhere. Some of these contests can be quite small, offering Entrecard credits or a months free advertisement and other contests are offering huge prizes.

Recently, some of the pro-bloggers such as ShoeMoney and JohnChow have been using Twitter as a means to collect contest entries and increasing their number of followers dramatically as a result. These contests are held for no reason other than to gain exposure. And it works!

Infected by Bugs’ Contest – Shannon, here at Infected by Bugs, has still got a contest running, for which you should take a look at the contest post and sign up for his RSS feed to make sure your entry is valid. Who wouldn’t want to receive a free iPod Shuffle?

Shannon’s contest is proof that it works. His subscriber numbers have increased, he has received over 130 comments on his original post regarding the contest and I’m sure his number of back links have increased also, with people informing their readers of this opportunity.

Shannon has also been intelligent in the way he has set the contest up.

He stated that: “If we can reach 700+ subscribers by the end of January I will get this Apple iPod Shuffle and give it out to one lucky reader!”

He has set a target for his readers and it is in their best interests to tell others about it and increase exposure of the contest further. He gave 25 days to increase his RSS subscribers by 75 people. If three people a day signed up for his feed, he would be giving the iPod Shuffle away.

Running a contest can be great for your blogs exposure and it doesn’t have to cost you a lot of money. Giving away items such as iPod’s, Amazon/iTunes gift certificates or even advertising space on your blog, can have a huge impact on your followers and increase your blogs readership quite quickly.

This is a guest post by Ricky Ruff!

Nowadays everyone has some type of profile on a social networking site, whether it be Myspace, Facebook, or some other site. Users range from major corporations to neighborhood convenience stores but none of them use the sites for what it worth. Some big companies or even independent users might use social sites to draw traffic to their own sites then make a profit from different types of pay-per-click programs or direct sales their is a better way to make direct cash from these social sites.

Myspace is like your site away from your site, as a matter of fact, any social site that you use is like your site away from you site, so why not treat it like one and charge advertisers to advertise on your profile page not using Myspace ads or any other ad that the site benefits from but by incorporating it into your design i.e. your banner or footer.

Seeing that Myspace offers the ability to customize you page look and feel, why not use it to your advantage to make some extra revenue? I don’t know any one who doesn’t have a Myspace profile or one on any other social site so this article will be useful if you seek to make a little cash on the side. But for those who don’t use Myspace or have profiles on other sites that don’t offer the type of customization that Myspace does you can always charge advertisers for text based links on your page. What I mean my text based links is charge advertisers to display a all text link on your page.

Tips to Help you Catch Attention of Advertisers

Add as many friends possible, even ones that you don’t know.(a Myspace friend adder might help).

Create as many profiles that you can manage using your identity(do not use anyone’s else’s identity unless you have permission).

Make sure you read the terms of service before creating multiple profiles.

Inform potential advertisers about your service by posting on sites, blogs, forums and even sending them an email about how advertising on your profile will benefit their business.

The more sites you post on the more likely you find potential advertisers.

Warnings!

Do not flood a potential advertiser, forum, site or blog with posts about advertising on your page

they will see you as spammer and not respond.

Have you every used any strategy to generate a direct revenue from your social networking profile? if so tell me about it

Any questions? email me rickeyrufffanmail@yahoo.com!

This is a guest post by Ethan from SellThatSite.net, be sure and check out his blog for more!

Below are five things that will help make you next video blog successful.

Good Lighting – This is one of the most important aspects of a video. Without good lighting people won’t be able to see your face and the video will be very fuzzy. So to make sure you have good lighting I suggest having at least 2 100 Watt lights, one on either side of you. Make sure both of the lights have the same Wattage or you’ll end up with a shadow effect on your face. If you can afford it I recommend having a floodlight or two. If you use a floodlight make sure it is behind the camera and centered on your face.

Good Intro – If you have a bad intro, or not one at all, people usually won’t stay and watch your entire video. A good intro should catch the viewers attention and get them interested in what you have to say. Usually a good intro is comical and features the host doing something odd, or “stupid”. If you’d like to go the more serious route you can have a few pictures of your self with words that describe your content popping up next to you.

Good Content- Like anything else on the internet, without good content no one will watch your video. But, on a video it helps to have content that you KNOW your visitors are interested in or like. So I recommend polling or asking your visitors what they want to hear/see. If you don’t have content that your visitors want, you may get some people to watch, but not the majority.

Comedy – This one is part of good content, but I believe it should be separate. Good content is a must, but without a little comedy it may seem a bit bland. I’ve watched tons of videos that had terrible content, but they were funny so I kept watching. If you have good content AND comedy, your video will be a success. Now I’m not saying you need to tell knock-knock jokes, but try and ad at least a little bit of humor. Good comedic moments are when you miss speak and keep going with it, then in editing add a sarcastic remark about how stupid what you said was, or something along those lines.

End with something that will make your visitors want to return – Always end the video with something that will intrigue the viewer to return to your site and watch and read your future content. For example: Say you have an article coming about how to do SEO. So at the end of your video say something like “Would you like some tips for SEO? Then check out my article ‘SEO the right way’ I’m posting on ______”

This article is written by Zafar Ahmed who is an experienced SEO Consultant

As the title says, if you are serious about internet marketing for your website or company; you’d have to get into it fully and go with techniques that just doesn’t give you benefit for a week or a month, it should benefits you in the long term, and if you are too serious about your company or website, you’d have to be really careful with internet marketing specially SEO as this can get you on top or banned your company website overnight. Yes, there have been many people who have experienced getting penalized by Google after years of intensive online marketing via SEO link building.

Now let’s get down to what can get you banned from Google and what can get your company on TOP rankings?

Remember; when you optimize a website, think of it for “long term” you have to tell yourself “I want to live in Google forever”

What can get you banned from Google?

1- A bad link no matter if it is relevant.

Yes, you heard it right. A bad link regardless of how relevant it is can still get you banned. You should know, some people out there would do anything to take full use of their high PR domains and sell unlimited links. Search Engines especially Google doesn’t like to give value to a link if it is on a website with 150+ other outgoing links. You should know the linking algorithm is no more the same, it will distribute the link juice with other outgoing links. Or even worse, if Google finds a website filled with outgoing ‘followed all’ anchored links, just that one link you bought on the site can bring you DOWN or let’s say discount your link as what they say.

2- Duplicate Content

You have to know how serious Google is about unique content. I am sure you should know of this as well after seeing Google launching their Knol service and how much importance it gives to wikipedia and how weird it is to banned almost 80% of the directories except few like DirJournal simply because for them, it is “uniqueness” of your content and how “valuable” it is to users.

You should also know the difference between “uniqueness” and “Valuable” in my dictionary, yes I have my own made “dictionary”.

What’s “unique”?

People these days seems to just think of “unique content” as hiring a writer to write a definition and features of a specific topic. For them, that’s the uniqueness of content.

If you do that, you are doing it wrong. Remember, everyone in this online world knows “wikipedia” is the best source for finding information, why would they read your content if they can quickly find it on wikipedia? Heck, it comes first rank for every searched keyword as well!

What’s “valuable”?

A simple one line explanation would be “teach people, do not just give them information; tell them what TO DO and what NOT TO DO” because that’s what they’d be more interested to know.

Suppose, if you own a company that does web design and you have a blog running on it, don’t talk about the difference between “photoshop and illustrator” or difference between this and that. TEACH THEM. yes, teach them how to actually make the most out of a web design as in what would be the best way to make your website more brand perfect with new web design tricks.
That’s what they’d be more interested to read.

Basic formula for unique content would be:

unique+valuable= uniquvaluable content! =P

3- Have a blog? – need PR? don’t buy links from START.

I am not against buying links like Google, I am against buying shitty and spammy links and buying links on very bad timings. Yes, time is a factor now too!
If you own a blog and wants to give it an increase in PR, be smart. If you want to make money off your blog and your domain is newly registered, you bought hosting and put a blog on your domain, now what?

Making money with blogs is not easy as it was before. You should read #2 up there and then keep on attracting commenter’s and search engine bots towards your blog without doing any link building. Your main target should for now be how to provide “uniquvaluable content” to your readers. I think the mistake most of newbies do these days, they just jump toward buying links skipping the most major part “uniquvaluable content”. There is proper timings to do both, perfect time would be once you know your pages are getting indexed faster and you have all your blog posts indexed and attracting commenter’s to your blogs, that’s when you should move towards “buying links” as those links will look more naturally to Google. You know what I mean, right? – that will be the time when Google would think… “the blog been up for some time, the webmaster been providing valuable info in the begining, there is no doubt why it shouldn’t be getting any links”.
=)

What can get your company on TOP rankings for long term?

1 – Trust

That’s the one and only big big factor that Google judges a website especially online company. Just like you build trust with “people” replace “people” with “search engines” now. Funny thing is the concept of building trust is for both is same.

- Get people talk about you positively to other people they know.
- Build your reputation with every one
- Be everywhere, forums, blogs, social bookmarks, twitter, everywhere.
- Teach people by giving advices
- Warn people what “NOT” to do
- Earn “awards” “achievements” but don’t brag much about it.
- Build you credibility…actually, that should be first but whatever…

That’s for now, I hope I’ve been “uniquvaluable” to everyone who has read this and you should tell yourself “Am I serious about internet marketing?”.

What is Web 2 marketing really? There are lots of misconceptions among webmasters on what it is and which the best practices are!

And there is no specific guide book to teach web 2.0 marketing best practices. Everyone is searching for newer avenues and continuously developing on it – like everything else it is an ongoing process. However, before talking about web 2.0 marketing let us make one point clear. Link Building in the traditional way is almost out of date if not DEAD. If you take a look at the recent trends in link building you would find that it is more about “strategic link positioning” rather than just getting links from high PR pages. It is also about implementing strategic SEO, SEM and link building in the development process. It is like posting a link in such a place where others would be able to pick it up easily.

It is more about being visible in as many verticals as possible. And when we talk about strategic link positioning, it necessarily includes branding and viral movement. For the beginners, the word Vertical may sound something new. To put it simply, vertical means different avenues like image, video, audio, local listing, business listing, social media etc.

Do you agree with this?

If your answer is yes, we can move forward to the next level.

Why do we buy something? Do you really think that a ‘buying decision’ solely depends on an individual? Certainly not; something that seems like a simple decision made at that very point is actually a complex evolution modified by different social contexts. In this situation we may also think about another phenomenon – need.

If you think twice, you would see that we often try to justify something as ‘need’ though we can do well without that. For example, if you are hungry, you can buy anything to eat. But why do you tend to buy from McDonald when you can do well with something else. Anything could easily replace McDonald. But does it happen always if you have money!

To put it simply, behavior and tendency of other people in your social context is actually helping you to shape your needs and desires. And thus you are not the only player in this decision making process.

Did you notice that we are talking about McDonald!

So how does it relate to web marketing?

In case of web marketing, the target individual is not a single individual sitting in front of a computer away from his or her social self. If you look closely, web is continuously growing into a bigger and critical social identity – a mixed bag of different cultural zones. To add to this, the same individual may act differently when he or she is talking about films or toothpaste or visiting different websites.

While integrating social media in their web marketing mix, a lot of search engine marketers think that it would get them a lot of visitors and business. If this is the primary reason for integrating social media into your web marketing mix, you are mistaking. The social media will actually create a buzz about you and your product if you can hit the hive properly.

Now how does this buzz work?

The buzz actually creates and modifies the online behavior of your target audience to take a positive or negative action (yes, there is always a risk). This happens just as it would have happened in your locality. The only difference is that, you do not see everyone physically – face to face.

Is that all?

No, certainly not! If bloggers (they have houses in the web to link to you) start talking about you (Oops, you just opened a node), it would also help you in SEO (great links – content based).

Blogging is a great way for teens to make money, but for teens looking for a more traditional way of making money, my teenage sister and I created myfirstpaycheck.com – employment help and job listings for teens. Myfirstpaycheck.com is a job-posting site for teenagers that provides advice and resources, including an interactive resume builder, to help young people have a more successful job application process.

We’ve compiled 5 great tips to help teens find summer jobs after Memorial Day, so if you are trying to earn money this summer -

Be brave. Even in this economy, there are plenty of employers looking for the affordable, enthusiastic and energetic help that teenagers provide, but you have to go out and look for it. Scan want ads in local papers, look for help-wanted signs in store or restaurant windows, go door-to-door in your town’s commercial district.

Be polite. You are applying for a job. Dress appropriately — spaghetti straps, bare abdomens, muscle shirts and baggy pants hanging almost to the floor are not good choices. Make eye contact, shake hands and avoid using slang or bad language. First impressions matter — you want to be remembered for your application, not your attitude.

Be prepared. Write a resume. If you don’t have job experience, include activities that have required commitment and consistency, such as volunteer efforts, sports teams or Scouts. Check your spelling and grammar or have your parents help you. Having a resume shows you are mature and responsible. Myfirstpaycheck.com offers a free template for teen resumes.

Be persistent. It would be nice if you were immediately offered every job that you ever applied for, but unfortunately that is not the case for anyone. Persistence pays off: send a thank-you note to interviewers, follow up if you don’t hear about the job within a week and keep applying.

Be creative. Look for work in places other than the mall. The weakening economy means that people will be looking to cut costs on services such as child care and lawn services. Get a few friends together and start a landscaping or baby-sitting business. Working for yourself is a great way to earn money and develop skills that will help you get your next job.

And keep blogging, Celeste and I both blog about our company and the teenage job market.

Thanks,
Austin

This is a guest post by BlogRiffic.com, a blog dedicated to helping everyone learn seo and better blogging from one of the industries pro’s!

The Benefits of Using SEO Content on Your Website

The term SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is a term that is widely used on the Internet these days. There are many benefits to using SEO content on a website, especially for website owners that use their site to earn a source of income. Using SEO content on your website has become a marketing strategy for many website owners, because it helps to draw more visitors to their site which can earn them more revenue and increase the amount of exposure the website receives. Additionally, using SEO content to earn income is much more affordable than some of the other means of making money from a website.

Raising Your Search Engine Ranking

SEO content helps by raising your ranking in various online search engines. If your website has SEO content on it, the chances of your ranking higher on the list becomes greater. The higher you rank on the list, the better chance you have of attracting more visitors. When web surfers search for information on a search engine, they generally will start clicking on items that are ranked on the first page. By having quality SEO content, you can increase your chances of being on the first page of a search, thus increasing the amount of people that will visit your site.

This principle works extremely well for websites that sell various products or services. By having SEO content on your website that discusses these products and services, you gain a better chance of drawing more people to your site. When customers visit your site and are able to find quality, well written information about your products or services, they are more likely to do business with your website, as well as recommend your site to friends and family who may also be interested in the services you are providing.

Profiting Financially From SEO Content

If your website is a source of income, having SEO content on your site can help you to yield a higher level of profit. It goes without saying that the more people that visit your site, the more of a chance you have of making more money. As we stated above, quality SEO content will greatly increase your ranking on search engines, thus increasing the amount of visitors to your site. In the case of websites that sell products or provide services, more visitors of course means more customers.

But even sites that do not sell products or services can benefit from using SEO content. SEO content is often more affordable than other means of marketing, such as pay-per-click marketing or purchasing ad space for your site. Generally, you will only profit from these strategies if a person clicks on the ad. These marketing strategies also usually cost much more than SEO, and often times do not reap any benefit. So using SEO content not only will cost less, but can actually save you a great deal of money as well, creating a higher profit margin for your website.
