So many bloggers try to run before they have their shoes tied. You could say they put the horse before the cart! It’s a real shame as many bloggers have potential but until they learn a few basic blogging principles that are needed to run a successful blog they will only progress so far.

Tying Your Shoes, It’s Like Blogging!

 

Today we are going to dive in and get you schooled on tying your shoes before you take off running. I get asked and have seen on forums all the time, what should I do to start blogging successfully?

Firstly, Blog on a subject you have a skill and a passion for! Don’t waste your time or your visitor’s time with info that is not accurate. People hate to be slowed down and have their time wasted. Therefore as a blogger it’s your job to keep the flow going naturally!

When creating posts for your blog its important to link to other posts within your blog if you can. This keeps readers on your site more as they will click through and it helps the search engines find other posts quicker then they normally could. This ups your page views per month and allows you to sell adverts for even more then you had hoped!

The blog design you endorse could make or break you, people will link to and visit a blog that looks like it should be visited and linked to. Think about it, you would link to eBay but not yahoo auctions. Why? Because eBay looks and acts better then Yahoo so you naturally link to and use the best one! The same principles apply when your blogging.

When it comes to creating content for your blog try to make your posts as long as possible while not wasting your user’s time. Cramming ideas, content and techniques into 500 words is going to be unnatural to read, why not take 1,000 or 1,500 words to talk about the subject more in depth? It not only lets you explains things to your readers better but the search engines like more content so your helping yourself in two ways!

I have covered a lot of these tips in the past but they are important to your blogging success! I am by no means the best blogger in the world but I do know enough to make a monthly income by blogging and you can do it to if you put the time in and try hard to win this internet marketing game!
