Hello everyone, and welcome to 2009!
I know I have already made a post or two in January but I haven’t actually said hello or happy new year…
Well the name of this post is actually quite serious and something I have needed to address for some time. Well good ol Joe over at ImWithJoe.com reviewed my blog from the contest I took part in over at SuzanneFranco.com.
Joe always puts his own twist on things and he did that with the review of my blog as well (gotta love him though, he is totally original). Anyways here is the post if you want to see the video or whatever.
Well in the video he asked what the name Infected By Bugs means since it really has nothing to do with Internet Marketing or anything of that nature.
Well Joe, the problem is simple. When I started blogging just over 1 year ago I had no idea what to do nor what was actually important, so I picked a domain name that I could easily remember and probably never forget. At the time I did not know I was going to start an internet marketing blog but the name stuck and it has become one of the quickest growing and most useful internet marketing blogs out their.
I am no Tyler Cruz or John Chow but maybe someday I could hit 1,000 + subscribers who in turn help me make money by brining in continued banner renewals like my pals over at NetKilx!
My goal has always been and always will be until I reach it to make $500/mo with this blog off various advertising options. Heck when I first started most people told me I was dreaming if I would ever make it in the MMO niche, all those guys are probably shocked to know that I have over 600 daily rss readers and am already making about $200/mo off this blog alone (soon to go up I’m sure).
Anyways sorry to get off topic but I just felt I needed to say it!
So yeah Joe, your right. The name has nothing to do with Internet Marketing but honestly since you first heard the name Infected By Bugs have you forgotten about it? I think not and I believe its the same for many people. I mean seriously bro what the heck does Google mean?
Well that’s all I had to say today but hit me with some comments below and lets see what you think of my name!

This made me think about the question, “What’s in a name?”
A name could be mean something completely different from one person to the next. I have to admit, when I first saw the name of your blog, I thought the exact same thing! It’s very catchy to say the least, and one to be remembered. There is a lot of great value here too. I will be visiting often.
Thanks,
Alan Mater
It’s fun to go back to Shakespeare’s thoughts on “what’s in a name… that which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet”.
Names truly land the best first impression, that is, if the picture doesn’t come first
Glad to hear it Alan!
In my opinion, the name infectedbybugs is awesome mame.

lol you dont know how google got its name? they chose it because there is some number called a googleplex and its like 10000000000 or something huge. that was their goal of how many pages to index when they started.
I figured you originally intended to start it as a report of software bugs! Probably in some kind of niche, like VB or WordPress or whatever….and then decided it would be more profitable for marketing.
Guess not
Alex – The number is called a “googol” and is 1 followed by 100 zeros. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googol is a good overview and mentions the Google connection.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googolplex describes a googolplex, which is much bigger.
Googleplex is the name of Google’s HQ – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googleplex (with a cool pic I’ve never seen before)
Buy infectedbybucks.com
Its better and suits the niche.. Cheers !
I have been wondering what the name meant for a while now, glad you finally addressed this.
The thing is though, it makes this blog kind of stand out from other blogs in the niche. Usually I see a ton of domains with “xxxmoney.com” or something like that.
LOL … just keep doing what you’re doing! I enjoyed Joe’s review and I have a “To Do” list that now includes to take a look at my static pages. Those pages were usually put there when we first started and once we get busy blogging we forget that many new comers to our blogs will check them out and they’re important. As for the name … I’ve never forgotten it
*huGs* Suzanne
P.S. When people ask the name of my domain and I say it’s my name, Suzanne Franco dot com, they raise an eyebrow … they think they’ll see me naked or something! LOL
I like the name too, it is easy to remember which is important online…
Every time that I visit your blog, I think how did you come up with that domain name. Now I know how you came up with the name. Most marketers would have changed their name once they decided what their focus was to blog about. I’m glad to see that you stayed with your name since day one.
I have read this post. This is very much true. I run a part time internet marketing business I have been collecting many material on internet marketing and checking out Jeff Paul’s internet marketing tactics. I hope that we can keep each other’s contacts so I can discuss my problems Even I own a blog account. I will mention your post in my blog.
This domain is good enough.

When i think of infectedbybugs.com by its name..i really think about a blog with a topic of trick and tips about software or internet..overall i like the name..it’s catchy, congratulation!

May your dreams come true and you can easily achieve your goals.
Thanks again guys, your words always boost me up!
your blog is interesting.how about a link exchange with my blog http://www.dfunda.com?
Professional internet marketing companies take publicity beyond e mails and blogs. They can offer search engine optimization, which includes you paying for keywords that are linked to your site. Each time someone uses one of these keywords, it can create a hit to your online business.
I have to admit that it is a pretty catchy domain name and unlikely that it will be easily forgotten.
I don’t know why, but for me your blog name suits perfectly the niche your talking about.
True. Yours is one of the few internet marketing sites whose names I actually do remember.
Man if I get any more compliments on my domain name I may just have to put big red dots on my mascots cheeks of blushing

The reason it’s my first recommendation is if you’re going to download and install an application I mention, or for that matter Ugg Amelie Suede, should you decide it’s not for you I want

Hey, your name is excellent. In the web world, an “easy” to remember name is big, but an “unforgettable” name is even bigger. I’ve run by your blog a handful of times, and know right away ever time I see the domain that this is your brand.
I do prefer “Infected By Devils” as that was an awsome line from a GZA song back in the day, “his brain was infected by devils…”.
Pretty good post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed reading your blog posts. Any way I’ll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you post again soon….
I came across your site while searching on MSN and have now added you to my rss reader. I Just though i should say “keep up the good work” and pass on congratulations on a job well done ! I am really looking forward to seeing more from you in the future.
It’s real a cool blog keep it up…
