Where Are My Commentators? You all asked me to post better content and for the last week I have been yet activity dropped from over 15 comments per post down to 1 for the last 2 posts… Whats up guys?
I not only dropped activity but I also passed up on over $100 worth of review because you all told me you did not want to see as many of those, if I don’t get some responses soon I’m gonna go back to my several short posts per day routine that was working awesomely.
C’Mon now guys I’m trying to please you but you gotta help me out to!

Sorry man, you know what I’ve been up to lately. I’ve liked the longer better posts, but I really liked the shorter but more frequent posts. It gave me something to read every day.
Well we will keep trying this for a month or so but if things don’t pick back up its back to frequent posts we go!

More seriously … Jewish holidays filled much of early October for me, coupled with a visit from the in-laws (oh joy), so time has been at a premium.

Okay , I’ll bite. I’m not sure how I arrived at this site – probably StumbleUpon – but I subscribed because I thought maybe I could learn something about blogging and monetizing blogs and web sites. I suspect that the reason you had lots of comments before was because of your contest. Now, I think you’re not getting as many because you are not being true to your blog. The top header reads “SEO, Blogging and Make Money Online” and yet you do reviews on Sunglasses, a Mold Abatement web site, a student loan company etc. I think those are just distractions like me getting traffic to my web site with free traffic exchanges rather than improving my content and SEO. If you reviewed books in this niche – include your affiliate link to them at Amazon of course – then your blog would be more useful to me. I want to know things like optimizing the code in my WP theme, how do you get the ad boxes on the right side of your blog? Are they plugins or do you have to code them in?
Hey Ryan, While those are great questions and I may answer them I have already answered tons of questions like that on my blog. No doubt I will continue to do more of them but i was simply talking about activity dropping…
Activity wouldn’t drop if the content was actually good. And I don’t mean good “fluff” I mean good good. Just saying. I agree with Ryan on this one.
Mark did you even read the two posts before the last 3 posts I just made today? They were some of the best content on this blog… Perhaps you already know it all?
The questions I was asking was just an example. I’m patient enough to stick around for the answers by you or someone else. There is no reason to be confrontational towards anyone who comments – nobody knows it all – even you. You just have a little more experience than I do. My point is that when one subscribes to a blog based on their first impression – I subscribed because of your header saying “SEO, Blogging and Make Money Online” and you do a review that should be posted to a students blog. Doesn’t it stand to reason that if your posts aren’t true to your blogs main purpose you may lose the interest of your readers and you won’t get as many comments?

I don’t know man, I haven’t been around as much lately to speak definitely! But, I do know, I agree that when I see reviews of unrelated products and services on blogs I tend to gloss over.
I know everyone does reviews from time to time, and I haven’t looked at all of yours so I don’t know the relevance, but, sometimes people read and don’t comment when the post requires no interaction from the reader.
Yeah, I am trying to be more selective with the reviews so we shall see how it goes!
