To help you with your writing and to help us get your post published on InfectedByBugs I’ve put together a few guidelines and suggestions for you to follow. I hate when you go to a blog and they don’t tell you what they are looking for in a guest poster.

Please Note: The following are suggestions and not cold hard facts, however we want to keep the quality of our blog up and we need you to follow these rules so we can do that for our visitors. We want you to write in your style, but to fit in with us you will need to follow these basics!

Topics – We are trying to relay a certain message to the readers of InfectedByBugs.com, therefore we are only accepting guest posts relating to our topics of interest. Be sure your post fits within one of the following categories before you submit it. The topics you should consider posting about have already been covered time and time again on our blog and others, but it never hurts to hear the same thing from a different perspective.

• Making Money Online
• Blogging Tips
• Traffic Marketing

Its the same stuff we have been covering since the start but its our voice and our readers like it, and we know you do to!

Format Of The Post – I am often asked how a post should appear when submitted to us, should it have heading tags, bolds, italics and such within the post? Basically my thoughts are, when you submit your post just put it in plain text format. No bolds or subheadings are needed, I will add these where I believe best, all we want from you is the content. However be sure to separate each topic you cover with bulletins or a subtext explaining the next section. If you want to have images in your post ( I love images in posts btw ) just list the images to us in an separate email to us and put the text "Image 1" on your post text where the image should appear. Be sure to send us the images so we can upload them to our server to ensure they are always up.

Post Lengths – We often get asked how long posts should be for our blog upon submission. I have no rules about this as I don’t believe it matters to the search engines as most bloggers would like you to think. If you can say it in 500 words then I say to use 500 words. But if you need 5,000 words to properly explain something then so be it! However the longer your post can be the better it is as our readers stay on the site longer! We may even alter your guest post to include more words or less words if we believe its needed. But you will still be given full credit for the post.

Unique To us - If you submit a post to us we will assume it will be 100% unique to our blog and wont be posted elsewhere. We usually reply to guest poster requests within 24hrs so you don’t have to worry if your post will or will not be published, we alert you quickly in that regard. If however we discover that a post you wrote for us appears on another blog(s) we will remove it from our site and you will not be allowed to write for us again. We believe in trust and we will trust that your post is unique unless you otherwise post it elsewhere.

Bio Links - Our goal with these guest posts is to help smaller bloggers (like you) get your feet wet and in the door on a prominent blog, while helping us out with some free to use content. In the post you submit be sure to include a couple words or lines about yourself and your blog either at the beginning or end of the post. This way we can link to your blog and send traffic / linkjuice to you easily.
