Writer Distractions

As bloggers we need to learn how to write without distraction, distraction is one of the worst things we can get into. We lose our train of thought and the ideas become very limited, I have experienced this countless times in the past but have always gotten out of it.

Today I want to discuss some basic ways to remove the distractions you didn’t even know were distractions. If you’re looking at blogging from a fun point of view while making some money then you need to take blogging seriously. Your blog needs time and attention to become a great resource for visitors to come to.

You may very well be in the midst of writer distraction and you don’t even know it, let’s take a look today!

Cell Phone

One of the biggest distractions is your cell phone / telephone. People don’t seem to realize how time consuming a cell phone can be. Especially those darn cell phone txt people that don’t know left from right!

Bottom line, when your about to start writing turn that darn cell phone off and get focused on the job at hand. Setting your focus is the most important thing you can do. Be determined and fulfill that need to write that’s yearning inside of you!

Email

Another distraction that eluded me for years was the fact that I would be checking and replying to emails while trying to write articles. I learned my lesson fast on that one; I would lose my train of thought and end up re-writing sections if not whole articles over it. If I would have just finished the article and then done the email checking I would have pumped out much better articles in a timely manner.

Family/Friends/Co-Workers

One of the great things about blogging is the fact that you can do it anywhere, coffee shop, restaurant, airport, closet, library anywhere really. As long as they have an internet connection you can do your work. I find it easiest to do this work from my own office and just shut my doors, turn on some music in the background and start typing away.

However if your at work and your blogging co-workers may interrupt you, if this happens why not tell them I will be their in 5 minutes, just let me finish something up. If they can’t respect you enough to give you 5 minutes then they can’t really be called a co worker, they are a slave driver!

As you can see, I have had problems with distractions in the past and I am sure to come across more in the future. However now that I know they are distractions I try my best to avoid them at all costs. You can do the same and keep the articles flowing with out distraction!
